Mantoloking, NJ house that Sandy washed into Barnegat Bay

MANTOLOKING, N.J. — On the surface, things look calm and placid. Just beneath the waterline, however, it's a different story.Cars and sunken boats. Patio furniture. Pieces of docks. Entire houses. A grandfather clock, deposited in a marsh a mile from solid land. Hot tubs. Tons of sand. All displaced by Superstorm Sandy.
"We did a cleanup three weeks ago. Then when we went back the other day, you could still see junk coming up in the wash," said Paul Harris, president of the New Jersey Beach Buggy Association, which helps take care of beaches on which the group goes surf fishing. "They go and clean it again, and two days later, you have the same thing again. There's nothing you can do about it; you can't vacuum the ocean."

The NJ Convention & Exposition Center at Raritan Center, Edison NJ is ideally located in Central NJ, at the crossroads of the NJ Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. It is off Route 440, only minutes from US Route 1 and I-287, as well as the Outer Bridge Crossing and Staten Island.

Recreational Black Sea Bass Fishery Will be Closed

Effective November 1, 2012 the Recreational Black Sea Bass Fishery Will be Closed for 2012 Fishing Year

Black Sea BassNOAA Fisheries today announced that the 2012 black sea bass recreational harvest limit has been reached. Effective 0001 hours, November 1, 2012, no one may fish for or possess black sea bass in Federal waters for the remainder of the 2012 calendar year, unless issued a commercial moratorium permit and fishing commercially.

This closure also applies to vessels issued a Federal party/charter permit fishing in state waters. Vessel owners issued Federal permits are reminded that they must continue to complete and submit vessel logbooks.

 

>The state will meet and most likely fall inline with the Federal Closure as well.

NJ Boater Safety Card Replacement.

Replacing your NJ Boater Safety Certificate if it's been lost or damaged.
Only New Jersey State issued boating safety certificates can be replaced by the Marine Services Bureau. Certificates issued by other states, the United States Coast Guard, the United States Power Squadron, or any other agency can not be re-issued by the Marine Services Bureau.

The preferred means of communication with the Marine Services Bureau regarding certificate replacement is via e-mail, this will allow us to serve you in the most efficient means possible. E-mail requests should be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , scanned copies of the below information must be in .jpg/.bmp format or in a Microsoft word document. If it is not possible to e-mail your request you can request a replacement certificate by writing to:

Requests may also be FAX'd to (609) 882-8110. Please be certain all of the information FAX'd is clearly legible.

Requests must include the following information;
1. Full legal name, in the case of a legal name change you must include your full legal name as it appeared on your original certificate as well as your current legal name, proof of name change(marriage certificate etc.) .
2. Complete address, in the case of a address change you must include your address as it appeared on your original certificate as well as your current address.
3. Identification and proof of address e.g., photocopy of drivers license etc.
4. Certificate number as it appears on your certificate( if known).
5. Home telephone with area code, daytime phone number with area code and an e-mail address.
6. Indicate the reason for requesting a replacement boating safety certificate. (Examples: Lost, Damaged, etc.).
